We like to think well of ourselves.

We like to think well of ourselves.
Mainly because of the doubts and fears we secretly harbour about ourselves.
And basically our current culture is a culture of self centeredness and ego - building.
Sometimes under the diguise of "community centered thinking"and the like, but still - as long as profit and competition and capitalism rule the day, all the rest is just maskeraderie, "fake news..."
What are the prices we pay, within this ego-centricity ?
Well, it is very vividly played - out today in this country's politics. What it comes down to is the destruction of the deepest and most important values that bond people together in solidarity and trust, the break - down of norms, morality and ethics, leading to the disintegration of the society. The Soul, our collective Soul here in Israel, is being attacked by Ego gone wild.
Similar processes go on in America.

And our individual Soul ? Well, it too is suffering very badly. It is very important, at all times, but in times like these all the more so, to have a firm Grounding in one's essence, to have the right nourishment and sustenance, in order to stay connected, clear, balanced and stable.
What are my soul's needs ? What is it's food ?
How do I keep myself sane and full and bright, even when all around there is chaos and violence and evil dressed as Messiah ?
These are good and intelligent questions, one should hold in these times.
Perhaps a good lead into that would be to ask yourself -
where do I experience Joy ? Love ? Freedom ? Peace ?
Am I balanced, or am I triggered, angry, depleted ?
Do you now, as you sit there reading, do you have the freedom, the ease, the well - being you crave ?
Is there, for you, a place inside, where you can go at all times, and replenish yourself, not depending on outer circumstance ?
How often do you feel safe ?
How often are you fully present, fully "there"?
Do you often find yourself, after a conversation or an interaction with someone, ruminating about what just happened, angry at yourself because of something you said, or something you didn't say or do, but should have ?
This is a sign of not being Present, not being fully there.
The more we become "Present", נוכחים, the less we have these, and the more we have the freedom to respond in a free, mature, creative way to whatever we meet...
And how is this related to the Soul's nourishment mentioned earlier ?
Well, there is a way.
We can learn how to find what our Soul's food is, and how to become more "present", and it is this same place which can offer peace and clarity and often, the intelligence and the Healing we need.

Would you like to go there with me ?
Because it's like going on a trip -
The journey becomes more enjoyable and rewarding when you're travelling with good company.
